Trips for Springfield stakeholders are scheduled annually to look at innovative solutions to area challenges by peer cities, she says. Mercado is a board member for the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools, which manages funds and scholarships for students and teachers. She also has served as a community investment panelist for the United Way of the Ozarks.
Mercado says she’s advocated for infrastructure such as Interstate 44 improvements and plans to continue to keep critical projects that will improve the area at the forefront of her focus.
