2025 40 Under 40: Christopher Bozarth

Christopher Bozarth, a principal with CJD Engineering, enjoys a challenge, and he got one when he took on a project for a factory near St. Louis.

Bozarth had to create a set of construction documents to bid and build an assembly line within an existing aerosol bottling plant.

“This presented a huge challenge to me and got me out of my comfort zone, which made it even more satisfying when it was complete,” he says.

As a principal, he also oversees recruitment and human resources at CJD. Since he began in that role two years ago, the St. Louis office has nearly tripled, and the company’s staffing has increased by 44% overall.

Bozarth, 38, regularly takes on civic challenges, too, as treasurer of the Springfield/Greene County Library Board and pastpresident of the board of the Ozarks Counseling Center.

First job? I bagged groceries at Price Cutter on East Battlefield.

Best productivity hack? Since my wife is one of the most productive people I’ve ever met, I strive to emulate her organizational strategies, which has greatly enhanced my own productivity.

Favorite hobby or creative outlet? Woodworking. I love the creative freedom it offers and the challenges that come with crafting everything from keepsake boxes to cutting boards and furniture.

Favorite local food order? The Miami Roll at Haruno. This is where my wife and I had our first date, so it holds a special place in our hearts.
