Entrepreneurship is the spice of life for Anthony Brent, founder, owner and CEO of Springfield Trading Co. The sauce and seasoning company is valued at $1.3 million, and its products can be found at more than 800 retail locations.
“People travel long distances to purchase our products, highlighting the brand’s exceptional reputation and influence,” says Brent, 33. “This success has not only solidified our presence in major retailers but also created opportunities for local collaborations, events and philanthropy, showcasing the power of entrepreneurial vision paired with community focus.”
He expanded his entrepreneurship in 2024 by developing the Springfield Media Corp. to spotlight Ozarks businesses and culture. Brent also gives back to organizations including Legal Services of Southern Missouri.
What would shock people about your job? Owning a hot sauce company, people think that I enjoy really spicy things but the truth is that I’m a pansy. That’s why all our products are extremely mild.
Best piece of advice you’ve received? Success is the product of your daily habits
Best celebrity meeting/sighting story? I had UFC hall of fame fighter Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone video call me on Instagram. Donald and Jelly Roll were eating my Perfect Pizza hot sauce in his kitchen.
Favorite local food order? Sexy fries at Retro Metro. They use our spicy garlic hot sauce in the sauce.
Dame Chiropractic LLC emerged as the new name of Harshman Chiropractic Clinic LLC with the purchase of the business; Leo Kim added a second venture, Keikeu LLC, to 14 Mill Market; and Mercy Springfield Communities opened its second primary care clinic in Ozark.
