Mistakes Lead to Stronger Version of Self

I will admit when tasked with this article I was unnerved. What is your leadership style I asked myself? My first response was, am I truly a leader? When I took a step back and assessed my career path and objectives, I discovered that yes, I am an empowered leader!

I make mistakes but so does everyone. I often remind my team and myself that the best lessons in life come from making mistakes, learning from them, and making a stronger version of yourself in the end.

My favorite inspirational quote is Maya Angelou’s "People will forget what you said and what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel." Learning from mistakes and cultivating relationships are key components in lifting a team higher.

I believe our CEO, Elizabeth Huber demonstrates Maya’s words in her leadership style as well. She’s passionate, captivating, and always has thought provoking words of wisdom. Elizabeth is very thoughtful in her management style and is always there to listen and lend a hand. She truly appreciates every member of her team and that respect is reciprocated.

In the end, how do I strive to lead our Springfield team? Listen more, talk less and communicate above all else. Be authentic, enthusiastic, act with integrity, and have fun!

Helping people feel empowered, appreciated, and excited for life is the leadership legacy that I believe both Elizabeth and I aspire to leave behind.
