A Missouri man has been sentenced for Paycheck Protection Program loan fraud to the tune of more than $500,000.
Brian Ruth Sr., 47, of Deepwater, was sentenced to nine years in federal prison without parole, according to KY3. He's subject to an order of restitution, with the court ordering him to pay $522,765 to the Small Business Administration, among other penalties.
Ruth pleaded guilty in 2021 to falsely claiming that three businesses – Ruth Properties MGM LLC, Ruth Properties MGM and Ruth Trucking LLC – were operational and had numerous employees in order to obtain PPP funds, according to past media reports.
