Course Details

The course includes 4 in-person class dates. Coursework will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with 30 min of networking time before and after.
Attendees must commit to all 4 classes

Classes will be held at Cox College, in newly remodeled classrooms.

Each cohort will be limited to 30 seats to ensure that attendees receive personal coaching and instruction from local experts.

The cost for the course is $975 per person, and includes instruction, course materials, and tools. All you need is a laptop!

The AI Certification Course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), its applications, and tools. The course is structured into four progressive classes, each aimed at building foundational knowledge and practical skills. Participants will engage in interactive sessions, complete homework assignments, and access additional resources to deepen their learning experience. By the end of the course, attendees will have everything they need to be an AI power user in their professional and personal lives

 

Week 1: Getting Started With AI

  • Introduction to AI and getting comfortable with the basics
  • Exploration of personal use cases for AI
  • Sharing of extra credit resources for further exploration
  • Homework assignment for the week

 

Week 2: Understanding AI Mechanics

  • How AI works: An in-depth look at the mechanics
  • Glossary of essential AI terms and concepts
  • Discussion about what AI is good at, and what it’s not good at
  • Overview of work-related prompts in ChatGPT
  • Interactive explanations and examples of AI processes
  • Homework assignment

 

Week 3: Custom GPTs and Advanced Use Cases

  • Creating custom GPTs tailored to specific needs
  • Exploration of additional use cases and tools
  • Hands-on session to build custom GPTs
  • Mapping workflows for different AI applications
  • Homework assignment

 

Week 4: Advanced Tools and Resources

  • Demonstration of advanced AI tools and their applications
  • Miscellaneous tools (e.g. SORA)
  • Distribution of a comprehensive resource bundle for continued learning

Course Instructors

Dr. Spencer Harris

Spencer Harris is the co-founder of Habitat Communication & Culture, as well as the President and co-owner of Mostly Serious.  Prior to becoming a business owner, Spencer spent several years as an organizational and business consultant, where he regularly facilitated and trained with teams of all sizes. Harris has worked directly with more than 50 organizations over the last ten years and is regularly sought out to advise leaders on strategies related to growth and performance. Harris currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Springfield.

Jarad Johnson

Jarad Johnson is the founder and CEO of Mostly Serious, which works with regional organizations such as CoxHealth, Paul Mueller, and The Community Foundation of the Ozarks to produce world-class digital experiences. Jarad’s interest in emerging technology has led Mostly Serious to develop expertise in artificial intelligence, providing AI-based solutions and team training to clients. Johnson was the founding board president of Springfield Creatives, an organization supporting local creative professionals. He has also contributed to the Springfield Community Gardens advisory board and served on the Board of Directors for the Downtown Springfield Association and the Galloway Community Improvement District.

Paige Oxendine

Paige Oxendine serves as Director of Consulting Services within Mostly Serious, where she regularly helps organizations train managers on essential tools and skills, develop strategic plans, and conduct customized research. Paige is an admitted AI skeptic turned believer, and enjoys helping teams unlock new opportunities through the use of technology. In 2016 Paige co-founded Rosie, an advocate network for current and prospective women founders, business owners, and leaders that went on to grow to 1,000+ members. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Springfield-Branson National Airport.
