Linn County Justice Center
315 Main St., Mound City, Kansas
Toth and Associates Inc. is providing structural and civil engineering work for the Linn County Justice Center project. The new 57,761-square-foot Justice Center will house a 96-bed jail, sheriff’s department, evidence and processing storage, 911 and dispatch, courts, judges’ chambers, prisoner visitation and some county offices. Project officials say the work marks the first installation of “mod-backs,” an innovative mechanical, electrical and plumbing framework that attaches to the rear of a double-stacked modular steel cell. This labor-saving mechanism cuts costs on the job site while improving the overall quality of the project. Goldberg Group – Architects PC (St. Joseph) is the project architect, River City Construction (East Peoria, Illinois) is the general contractor and Ross & Baruzzini Inc. (St. Louis) is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. The project is slated for completion by May.
