Arkifex Studios LLC designed the $5.5 million agricultural magnet school on the campus of Missouri State University’s Darr Agricultural Center. Springfield Public Schools will serve up to 150 fourth through sixth graders in its AgAcademy program. School officials say the program is designed for students interested in agricultural studies and provides hands-on learning. The 15,137-square-foot building features a commercial-grade kitchen, laboratory space, greenhouse and garden, projects officials say. Snyder Construction Group LLC is the general contractor, with engineering work by Olsson Inc., civil and geotechnical engineer and landscape architect; J&M Engineering LLC, structural; and Interpres Building Solutions LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project, funded by an investment from the Darr Family Foundation, is slated for completion by this March.
