Welcoming the Business Community with No Cost Fully Equipped Meeting Space

Posted online

Perimeter Behavioral Health of Springfield is committed to improving the lives of children impacted by mental illness.

Opening up to the Community

The facility located at 2828 North National Avenue boasts ample space for growth. “We’re eager to showcase our community room,” Delaney Yocom said Delaney Yocom, Director of Business Development with Perimeter Behavioral Health. “Our aim is to spark conversations and destigmatize inpatient care, a crucial service for children in acute crisis. Discussing such matters can be daunting, but it’s vital for communities to grasp the services we provide and their significance.” Yocom said that the community room serves as a gateway, inviting people to explore other facility beyond its clinical aspects, fostering engagement and understanding.

Repurposing the room from an unused pharmacy into a multifunctional community resource was a logical step. The room can be reserved for no fee and is equipped with AV facilities, a podium and a refrigerator. The room’s expansive size enhances its versatility, making it ideal for various events and meetings.

Patient Spaces Get a Boost to Better Serve Children

Conversely, patient-oriented spaces like the gym, game room and sensory room offer tailored therapeutic environments for clients. These areas provide invaluable opportunities for children to engage in activities they enjoy, such as sports or video games, in a controlled setting. “Through structured interactions, we assist them in navigating challenges and transitions, imparting essential life skills in the process,” said Yocom.

And the environment is anything but clinical. “Our maintenance team’s ingenious touch, transforming the game room’s TV frame into a Nintendo Switch replica, underscores our commitment to creating welcoming environments,” said Yocom. Safety remains paramount, with rigorous inspections ensuring compliance with standards.

“While the sensory room undergoes renovation, it remains a testament to our dedication to continuous improvement,” said Yocom. Patient feedback is a huge part of the redesign and helps bolster the positive impact of these spaces, enhances their sense of well-being and fosters a culture of open communication.

Looking ahead, Perimeter is focusing on enhancing the team and workplace culture. Initiatives like the SPACE program emphasize the importance of breaks and collaborative decision-making, reinforcing Perimeter’s commitment to being an employer of choice.

“Our facility isn’t just a clinical space—it’s a community hub, a sanctuary for healing and growth,” said Yocom. “Through thoughtful design and innovation, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients and employees alike.”
