Locally Owned with a Focus on Quality and Respecting Customers’ Time

Posted online

Established in July 2022, Callahan Heating and Cooling is the newest locally owned HVAC company in Springfield. Brett Callahan, the owner of Callahan Heating and Cooling, emphasizes the company’s commitment to local ownership and quality service. Callahan Heating and Cooling has swiftly expanded to include four field workers and two office staff, reflecting its growth and success in a relatively short time frame.

Before he started working in HVAC, Callahan was a radio operator in the Marines with Scout Sniper Platoon and was stationed in various places throughout the globe. It was during his time in the service that Callahan honed his communication skills and developed his passion for taking care of people. When he left the military, he joined a large local HVAC company as service manager. Years later, when that company was bought by a national corporation, Callahan felt it was time to strike out on his own and start a company that was dedicated to putting customers first. He emphasizes the importance of personal accountability in ensuring that customers receive top-notch service, underscoring his commitment to upholding not only the company’s reputation, but also his.

“The whole reason I started this is because I was at one of the big companies and it just got to the point where we were providing a great service but that personal touch and care just wasn’t there anymore,” said Callahan. “No one really seemed to care when there was an upset customer. That’s when I decided how important it is to put your trust in a locally owned company. My name is on every job we do so I take it personally and make sure our customers are taken care of.”

One of the Callahan Heating and Cooling’s distinguishing features is its two-hour arrival time window for service appointments, ensuring that customers are not left waiting all day for a technician to arrive. “A lot of companies are giving clients a 30-minute warning for when a service technician will be at their house,” said Callahan. “We don’t want people to have to sit around all day waiting on us. We want to make sure people know exactly when to expect us and if we can’t make it within that two-hour window, we will make sure they know well in advance. We respect our customers’ time as much as that of our techs.” Additionally, Callahan Heating and Cooling offers financing options for repairs and equipment, making their services more accessible to customers.

Callahan envisions expanding Callahan Heating and Cooling into a full-service company, offering electrical and plumbing services within the next decade. But he guarantees that focus on local ownership, punctuality and quality service will always be at the forefront of everything Callahan Heating and Cooling takes on. “We will always strive to give competitive pricing and quality work,” said Callahan. “Quality is the biggest thing here.”
