Pam Nelson still has the 40 Under 40 glass plaque on her desk from when she was honored in 2002, and she’s still at City Utilities of Springfield.
She graduated in 1987 from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. She later moved to Missouri and worked for the highway department and in the private sector, before landing at her professional home.
And she’s stayed there ever since.
“When I got to City Utilities, I just found my niche,” she says, noting she enjoys working with CU’s customers. “It’s been the perfect fit for me. … It’s been a great job, with good benefits. I always recommend it.”
