Now: In-house counsel and compliance officer, North Arkansas Regional Medical Center
A lot of has changed in two years for Andrea Long. For starters, she now works in Harrison, Arkansas, as in-house counsel and compliance officer for the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. However, she still calls Nixa home – making for a long commute, she says.
The former Nixa councilwoman, who served as police liaison and helped found an alternative sentencing court, says she remains involved in her hometown. These days, she’s also setting up a community paramedic program at the hospital to help patients access appropriate health care, in addition to working on a population health initiative.
“That has been a big part of our population health and we are really trying to look at the whole person,” she says. “There are so many factors that come into play, and their financial situation, their personal relationships, you’ve got to look at the whole package.”
