Bartlett & West Inc.
Bartlett & West Inc. is the civil engineer for a three-story pre-K through second grade school being built on a prairielike site spanning 45 acres. The $27.5 million project for the Nevada School District, funded by a bond issue and private donations, features classrooms, a gym, storm-safe cafeteria, library and central atrium with “learning stairs” that double as a multipurpose space. Project officials say the design includes views of the land – formerly hay fields – as well as a lake and nearby city park. The acreage will also be used for educational opportunities and play. Dake Wells Architecture Inc. is the architect and McCownGordon Construction LLC (Kansas City) is the general contractor. Additional engineering work is by J&M Engineering LLC, structural, and CJD Engineering LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects LLC (Chicago) is the landscape architect. The project is slated for completion in June 2024.
Fitness business maxes out first two gyms and adds a third to keep pace with its 3,000 members.
