Project architect nForm Architecture LLC is designing a 10,000-square-foot sheriff’s office and 20,000-square-foot jail for Barry County. Upon completion, the jail will house 100 inmates. Designers say the new facility will enhance safety and security for the residents of Barry County. In June, three inmates escaped from the existing jail in Cassville but were later recaptured, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service. Nabholz Construction Corp. is the general contractor, and engineering work is by Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; J&M Engineering LLC, structural; and Interpres Building Solutions LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. Project officials say the design is in the beginning stages and a cost, address and completion date have yet to be determined.
