Sapp Design Associates Architects PC designed the $6 million Lebanon Early Childhood Center, part of a project to convert a 100,000-square-foot shopping mall from the 1980s into a collaborative hub focused on partnerships to meet student health and educational needs. The Lebanon Schools’ center will combine learning experiences, entrepreneurs and health organizations under one roof. The building includes a health care clinic, district preschool, high school career immersion program, culinary arts program, event center, tech labs and leasable business storefronts. Design officials say identity and wayfinding signs were critical for organizing the facility. Existing entrances will be updated with modernized canopies and exterior graphics. Engineering work is by Olsson Inc., civil; J&M Engineering LLC, structural; and RTM Engineering Consultants LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project is expected to wrap in June 2023.
