Personal Touch: The employees’ workspaces are plastered with art, which Sullivan says has been sourced largely from their personal collections and from friends. A basketball goal invites a playful atmosphere, and the crew doesn’t shy away from profanities on the walls. “Having a lot of space to put up things that inspire us,” Sullivan says, is a driving force in the office.

Game On: An arcade cabinet in the lobby has Street Fighter II ready to go, and a shelf shows off some of the company’s designs. Sullivan says clients over the years have included Sweet Boy’s Neighborhood Bar, Team Taco, Mother’s Brewing Co., Big Whiskey’s and Easy Mountain Cannabis Co. “We specialize in vice. We work in a lot of really highly regulated industries,” Sullivan says.

A summer relocation to Galloway Village was a move to another “cool” part of Springfield for brand design and illustration studio Fried Design Co. The word “cool” comes up often with company employees at the studio known for an aesthetic inspired by tattoo, T-shirt and poster designs.

Previously in downtown Springfield, Fried Design now is located in 3,500 square feet at 3938 S. Lone Pine Ave., Ste. 102.

At the new office, posters bedeck the walls, and workspaces are decorated to represent employee personalities.

“It is very representative of all the different people who work here,” says owner Josh Sullivan. “The cool thing is, it’s just kind of all over the place.”

Art Director Bryan Elliott adds, “It’s a blank slate, and we can make it ours.”

While the design largely was conducted in-house, Sullivan says Paragon Fabrication LLC created and installed a glass partition that separates the conference room from the lobby, and Pinnacle Sign Group Inc. was hired for the Fried Design logo outside.
