Elevated Form

A move from Hammons Tower to a new office complex in east Springfield might have brought Husch Blackwell LLP down a few floors, but officials say it’s elevated the law firm in form and function.

Husch Blackwell’s 14,500-square-foot home spans nearly all of the third floor at 3810 E. Sunshine St., Ste. 300, an office building developed by Rita Baron’s Raga Properties LLC. Springfield Managing Partner Bryan Wade says the smaller footprint from its 25-year home downtown is designed with a modern law firm in mind – smaller offices, less storage and library space, and lots of collaborative spaces.

The finishings highlight the contemporary space, but with an Ozarks twist, he says, using words like organic, warm, friendly and functional to describe the space that serves 17 attorneys, 12 business professionals and a handful of remote workers who pop in to use hoteling stations.

Glass and windows make up most of the walls, and bright green plants are around every corner. Each piece of art was carefully curated and represents diverse artists from around the country, says Regional Director of Office Administration Teri Pearman.
