Room with a View: Visitors to The Breast Center are greeted by a receptionist and then led into this waiting room to relax before heading to a dressing area. The room is notable for its mix of textures, with handwoven rugs, contemporary sculpture and a range of textiles featuring subtle touches of pink. The fireplace was custom designed by Paragon 360 for Grooms.

Taking Turns: The center’s radiologists and owners stay busy as the parents of seven young children and take weeklong turns at the Springfield practice and another in Quincy, Illinois. Here, it’s Logan Lackey’s turn to run the show in Springfield, working with his laptop in the conference room. Another small office, painted in dark charcoals, provides an ideal space to read film.

Dreamy Escape: Southwestern art provides a calming focal point in the room devoted to mammography and bone imaging – the reason people visit The Breast Center. Afterwards, they can await same-day results in a consultation room featuring a variety of magazines and snacks.

Action Painting: At The Breast Center, as the office is more familiarly known, bone mineral density scanning is offered in addition to mammography services. Dr. Amanda Lackey stands before a live-action painting of her friends and family executed by an artist at the center’s opening.

Coordinated Effort: Amanda Lackey knew she was doing something right when she brought in a set of paintings from her parents’ collection, and they coordinated perfectly with the textured wallpaper, rose-colored carpet and peach barrel chair of the dressing rooms designed by Grooms’ Alissa Lacamp.

When Dr. Amanda Lackey decided to open Breast Imaging of the Ozarks LLC at 2144 E. Republic Road, Ste. E104, she had a vision in mind: “I wanted to create a Southwestern spa experience.” By incorporating her parents’ art collection and a finishings palette reminiscent of a desert sunset, she has pulled off her vision, creating a surprising and welcoming environment for people who rely on the screening and diagnostic services provided by her and her husband, fellow radiologist Dr. Logan Lackey II, at their Farmers Park office.
