Cara Griffin, 36, influences both current and future leaders through her roles at Ozarks Technical Community College. Chancellor Hal Higdon tasked Griffin and her colleague to develop, implement and manage the internal Leadership OTC program to facilitate professional development among employees.
Additionally, she founded student group Politically Active, which she labels her proudest professional accomplishment to date. The organization increases bipartisan political awareness and encourages community involvement among the OTC student body. Currently, 150 learners participate in the group. Griffin also teaches political science and American government courses at the community college while working as the human resources coordinator and planning Politically Active events.
Best productivity hack? I’m a list junkie.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Never ask anyone to do anything that you wouldn’t do yourself.
Most treasured possession? For my college graduation, my father had a large ruby ring created for me and engraved.
Favorite hobby or pastime? Riding my horses. I have a retired show mare I have taken/shown all around the United States. She and I have a beautiful journey together and I’ve been lucky enough to have won several regional awards. I also have a young project horse. I love taking care of our little 11-acre hobby farm.
