Voices of Salute

Editor’s Note: Salute to Construction, an initiative that started 27 years ago, has three key goals: to celebrate industry achievements; to increase community awareness of job and economic opportunities in construction; and to bring industry and community organizations together to collaborate and share information.

Salute to Construction is guided by a council of more than 20 member organizations. Throughout the year, Salute members volunteer to visit area schools and tell students about career opportunities in construction. The council meets several times a year, leading up to the annual Salute to Construction banquet, which honors Developer of the Year and Project of the Year, among others.

Springfield Business Journal invited Salute council representatives to answer questions about their organizations and the industry:
