USDA suspends inspections of avocados, mangoes from Mexico

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is indefinitely suspending inspections of avocados and mangoes from Mexico.

The USDA cited "security concerns” for its staff.

Media reports indicate two USDA inspectors were illegally detained at a local checkpoint in the state of Michoacán. That's where most of the U.S. supply of avocados originates.
