The United States yesterday threatened to levy tariffs of up to 100% on $2.4 billion worth of French goods.

The threat was made in retaliation for a digital services tax U.S. officials say is discriminatory against American tech companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon.
French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire said a "strong" response would come from the European Union.
