Mariner Kemper, chairman and CEO for Kansas City-based UMB Financial Corp. (Nasdaq: UMBF), has been named among Forbes' list of the most powerful CEOs 40 and under.
The
list - comprising chief executives leading the largest publicly traded companies based on market capitalization as of Feb. 13 - ranks the 40-year-old banker No. 7.
Kemper, who joined UMB in 1997, is marked for leading a company with a market capitalization of $1.85 billion.
He joins executives such as 39-year-old Larry Page of Google and 28-year-old Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, who ranked Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. Forbes named 20 people on the list.
Kemper has been chairman and CEO of UMB since May 2004, according to his corporate
profile.
UMB, which operates two UMB Bank branches in Springfield, reported 2012 earnings of $122.7 million, a
