Stone County nonprofit receives $85K in tax credits

Posted online
The Missouri Department of Economic Development has approved Christian Associates of Table Rock Lake for $85,131 in Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits.

Christian Associates is a Kimberling City-based nonprofit organization that specializes in family and community services, domestic violence counseling and advocacy, and has a thrift shop and a food pantry.

The organization will use the tax credits to provide services to 620 Stone County households, including emergency shelter and/or transitional housing, case management, job search assistance, and rent and utility assistance, according to a DED news release.

The DED Neighborhood Assistance Programs helps nonprofits raise private-sector funding by providing partial state tax credits to businesses that make contributions to approved community development projects.

Businesses can donate cash, materials, supplies, equipment, technical assistance and professional services, labor, real estate, or stocks and bonds. Donations can equate to 50 percent of total amount contributed or 70 percent for projects in most rural areas, the release said.[[In-content Ad]]
