St. John's donates $80K to local charities

St. John's Clinic today will present $80,000 in donations to four area charities as part of its semiannual Force for Good campaign.

The donations will be presented the the groups at 4 p.m. at St. John's Hammons Heart Institute, according to a news release.

The charities are:
  • Children's Haven of Southwest Missouri, a children's crisis care center located in Joplin, $25,000;
  • Hands on For Seniors, a United Way initiative that aids seniors in repairing their homes, $15,000;
  • Harmony House, which provides shelter and advocacy for victims of domestic violence, $20,000; and
  • Isabel's House, a crisis care center for children located in Springfield, $20,000.
The Force for Good, the charitable arm of St. John's Clinic, has raised more than $1 million for local charities since its 2003 inception, according to its Web site.

During its campaigns, St. John's Clinic co-workers and physicians raise funds and make donations for community campaigns and initiatives.[[In-content Ad]]
