Springfield host to several large events in 1999

Posted online

This year sets a new record never in Springfield's history has there been this much activity in travel and tourism.

Within just 30 days, Springfield will play host to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association's Wing Ding, the Amateur Athletic Union's 12 and Under National Basketball Championship and the Missouri Vocational Association.

The entire community is postured to welcome the Gold Wing Riders' Wing Ding in grand style. Springfield has outdone itself looking into all possibilities and probabilities to determine that this group will have a good time in the Ozarks and look forward to coming back.

The Amateur Athletic Union's 12 and Under National Basketball Championship will then make the city its home base July 16-24. Though organizers have worked with Springfield in the past and been impressed, this is the first time they have brought a tournament of this size.

The Missouri Vocational Association returns to Springfield for its annual meeting July 26-29. State educators have enjoyed Springfield's hospitality for some time, meeting here for the past 12 years. The MVA has agreed to meet in Springfield annually through 2002.

You can help us welcome these groups and take advantage of a great opportunity to appeal to a significant visitor market:

?Your organization may have a reader board where you can run a greeting, special offers or other information specific for the group you'll enjoy the traffic that it generates.

?Provide employees with buttons, pins or ribbons that let the group know they're important to you[[In-content Ad]]
