The Ozark Area Chamber of Commerce has elected a new board of directors for 1999. The officers are Glenn Blake, Empire District Electric Company, president; Stacy McNeill, Columbia College, vice president; and Julie Fraker, Metropolitan Bank, treasurer.

Board members are Janis Creek, Commerce Bank; Brenda Estes, First Home Savings; John George, Carol Jones, Realtors; Clint Mease, Mease-Barnes Funeral Home; Chuck Murfin Jr., Murfins Market; Paula Dougherty, American Express Financial Services; June Somers, Heartwood Log & Lumber; Don Watts, Fasco Industries; Rick Robison, PC Outlet; Bette Houzenga, U.S. Postal Service; and Elaine O'Neal, Business Software Solutions.The chamber's 1999 Corporate Sponsors are Empire District Electric Company, Fasco Industries and Metropolitan Bank at the Silver level, and Adams Funeral Home at the Bronze level.

Upcoming events include:

?Business Women's Network, 7 a.m. Jan. 20 at Springcreek Antiques and Tea Room.

?Installation of officers and awards banquet at Millwood Golf and Racquet Club, Jan. 23. The featured speaker will be Dr. Cal LeMon of The Executive Edge. The cost is $25 per person.

?Good Morning Ozark, 7 a.m. Jan. 28 at Shoney's.
