The board of trustees at Crowder College of Neosho voted to increase tuition rates for students who live in the two-county district by $2 per credit hour.
This is the third consecutive year for an increase. Students who live in the district will be charged $42 dollars per credit hour for the 1998-99 school year. Those who live outside the district will pay $62 dollars per credit hour.
This rate hike comes after the college stated it lost somewhere between $60,000 and $80,000 in state revenue this year for instructional equipment.
College president Kent Farnsworth said he hopes the hike will give the college an additional $50,000 next year.
