Ann E. Dryden has been named director of public relations at St. John's Regional Medical Center.

Dryden returns to the area following a decade in Kansas City that included assignments as senior marketing coordinator for the University of Kansas Medical Center and director of operations of executive education for the University of Kansas School of Business. She is also a former corporate communications staff manager for a subsidiary of the Southwestern Bell Corporation.

"I was very impressed with the quality of compassion, care and enthusiasm demonstrated by the St. John's staff during my initial visit," Dryden said. "I am truly delighted to be part of the team."

Dryden received a bachelor of science in education degree in art and speech, and a master of science degree in education in communications from Southwest Missouri State University.

She served for eight years as instructor of speech, drama and language arts at Lebanon High School and as an adjunct professor at SMSU and Drury College. She was a media coordinator at St. John's Regional Health Center, and an account supervisor for Noble Communications in Springfield and Chicago, Ill.
