The Mercy Regional Health Foundation will present its 14th annual "Blast From The Past," a nostalgic journey through the '50s -'70s, March 13-14 and March 20-21 at the John Q. Hammons Trade and Convention Center in Joplin.
The benefit will feature a dance, floor shows, spotlight specialty dancing, dance contests and a lip-synch competition between local and area municipal services, businesses, newspapers, and radio and television stations. Food and drinks from the era will be served at Arnold's Place.
The foundation is featuring a classic 1968 Corvette convertible or $12,000 (winner's choice) to be given away at the "Blast." The car is on display at the front of the JC Penney Department Store at Northpark Mall in Joplin.
Chances on the car or money prize are $2 and are available at Penney's catalog department and St. John's main lobby.
Proceeds from the "Blast" and car ticket sales help support the foundation in continuing to fund health programs and services in four states.
