A Joplin cable company is doing more than just selling premium channels to the Joplin area.
Feb. 25 CableOne cable company donated more than $2,000 to the Lafayette House of Joplin.
The Lafayette House is a nonprofit shelter for battered and abused women and children who may also suffer from drug and alcohol addiction.
CableOne donated the money to the shelter in a special ceremony.
The company raised the money by collecting $5 installation fees from area residents during the month of December.
