St. John's Regional Medical Center of Joplin is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its Mercy MedVan program.

The hospital is adding a fourth van to its fleet in hopes of keeping up with the increasing demands of the community.

The additional van will be used for patients in the Kansas area.

The free transportation system is available to residents who need treatment at St. John's or see a physician who is a member of the HealthFirst organization.

This service is offered from 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Patients needing to schedule a ride may call 888-355-RIDE.
