AmeriCold Logistics Inc., the largest provider of frozen food warehouse services in North America, is moving into Carthage.
The company has entered into an agreement to acquire the CARMAR group of companies, which have their headquarters in Carthage.
CARMAR has five refrigerated facilities. It also has a contract to construct an East Coast distribution warehouse.
The company has a total of 61 million cubic feet of storage capacity in Missouri, Arkansas and Georgia.
AmeriCold Logistics has its headquarters in Atlanta, Ga. It has 84 facilities nationwide.
In 1997, the company handled more than 35 billion pounds of temperature-controlled products.
The transaction is scheduled to take place within the next 90 days.
