Branson entertainer Jim Stafford will help Springfield Little Theatre kick off its 65th season with his full-length comedy "Neighborhood Watch," co-written by associate Steve Van Gelder, to premiere at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Landers Theatre.
Landers Theatre Executive Director Mick Denniston said in a news release, "Here we have a local author who is a proven comic genius with a national reputation, and we're given the chance to premiere his play. We'd have to be sillier than some of the characters in 'Neighborhood Watch' not to go for it."
The play is centered on the attempt of a diverse group of neighbors to form a crime watch organization.
Beth Domann is director with a cast including Landers Theatre veterans Sharon Rector, Dave Logan, Paula Patterson, Ray Glover and Tara Scott Young-Love, plus newcomers Kevin Burnham, Doug Welch, Greg Brock and Tonya Cunningham.
