Branson Postmaster A.K. Tipton Jr., along with the city of Branson, announced last Friday the issuance of the second anniversary pictorial cancellation and "American Highrise" cache envelope to celebrate the November Veterans Homecoming in Branson. The full-color "American Highrise," created by Richard Daniel Clark, will include a black-and-white symbol of the POW/MIA.
The special cancellation and cache envelope will be sold Nov. 11 from a mobile post office at the corner of Main Street and Veterans Boulevard in downtown Branson.
The commemorative items will continue to be sold at the Branson post office for 30 days thereafter. The sale of envelopes last year helped in raising money to purchase a van to transport area veterans to V.A. hospitals for treatment.
Funds from sales this year will be used to refurbish the World War II Honor Roll at the Branson Post Office and cover the cost of the Korean and Vietnam War Veterans Tribute currently being designed by Clark.
