Mountain Country Habitat for Humanity is seeking families and single persons living in Taney and Stone counties who wish to apply for Habitat homes. Homeowner application sessions are set for 6 p.m. Feb. 4 at the American Legion Post in Kimberling City and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 6 at the First Baptist Church in Branson.
The following are the requirements for applying for a Habitat home:
1. The applicant must have lived as a resident of Taney County or Stone County for a minimum of two years.
2. The applicant must meet income qualifications as defined by the National Poverty-Level Income Guidelines based on number of family members.
3. The applicant must have the ability to make monthly house payments.
4. The applicant must be living in substandard, inadequate or overcrowded conditions.
Persons interested in attending a session must make reservations by calling the Habitat office at 335-2015.
Habitat also needs volunteers to help with building, fund raising and family nurturing.
Anyone interested in volunteering is invited to attend the Habitat Open House at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 in the activity room of Best Western Knights Inn in Branson.
