Show-Me State Realtors sell 17% more homes

Show-Me State real estate agents sold 17.4 percent more homes in September, at a higher average price, according to the latest monthly home sales report released last week by the Missouri Association of Realtors.

Missouri Realtors sold 5,833 homes in September, up from 4,970 in the same month of 2012. The average selling price last month, $155,853, represented a 5.3 percent increase compared to $148,051 a year ago.The median price of homes sold in Missouri last month jumped 6.7 percent to $128,000 from $120,000 a year ago.

Homes also sold faster in September, as real estate agents experienced a 9.6 percent decrease in the number of days homes lingered on the market. In September, homes averaged 122 days on the market, compared to 135 days in the same month of 2012, according to the release.

During the third quarter ended Sept. 30, Missouri real estate agents sold 19,807 homes at an average price of $165,475.[[In-content Ad]]
