Larry Snyder & Co. is the general contractor for the renovation and 5,000-square-foot expansion of Schweitzer United Methodist Church, which is on track for completion by Oct. 1. Buxton Kubik Dodd Creative is the architect for the $1.5 million project, for which the church did not use a lender. Engineers are Meridian Structural Works Inc., structural; Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing; and Olsson Associates Inc., civil. The addition includes four children’s classrooms and an expansion of the church’s preschool and nursery areas. Donnie Volentine, project manager with Larry Snyder & Co., estimates that the project is roughly 75 percent done. It was initially slated for completion by the end of August, but Volentine said accommodating the church’s summer class schedule delayed progress.
