Posted online
Sam's Club has committed to donating $150,000 among 100 Enactus teams in the U.S.

Through Sam's Club Step up for Small Business Project Partnership, each of the 100 participants school teams will receive a $1,500 grant to improve the business practices of their team, according to a news release.

Among participating teams in the program is Missouri State University and Ozarks Technical Community College.

With the grants, teams will perform a needs assessment covering marketing, finance, accounting, and pricing as they work with small businesses on their Enactus projects, according to the release.

Participants will submit final reports in February, and a panel of Sam's Club representatives will pick the top teams. The top 10 finalists will receive an additional $1,000, while the top three teams are slated to receive another $3,000 to $5,000. The company also will donate $2,000 to one small business that partnered with each of the top 10 finalists.

Enactus, formerly Students in Free Enterprise, teaches concepts such as market economics, entrepreneurship and business ethics to some 62,000 student members in 38 countries.[[In-content Ad]]
