Pizza food truck closes

A pizza food truck in business since mid-2020 has closed for good.

Hot Fire Pie, which operated at 2334 S. Campbell Ave., near Westlake Ace Hardware in Campbell Marketplace, in addition to mobile gigs, announced the closure in a Facebook post yesterday.

"It is with a heavy heart we here at Hot Fire Pie have decided to close our business," the post reads. "I would like to thank you, all my customers, for their support for the last two years."

Reached via Facebook Messenger, a representative with the restaurant elaborated that "food prices have skyrocketed, making it difficult to continue."

Restaurant veteran David Errico launched Hot Fire Pie in July 2020, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. The food truck specialized in wood-fired pizzas.
