Advertising: Perkin-Watts Advertising and Marketing Services has announced the addition of two graphic designers to its staff.

Brian C. Derenski holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Kansas State University. He has designed large-scale trade show graphics for clients including Motorola, Pontiac and General Motors, which he did while working for Chicago-based Exhibitgroup/Giltspur. More recently, Derenski worked as a graphic designer and prepress technician for a Branson printing company.

David Mayne holds a bachelor's degree in art and marketing from Evangel University. Prior to joining Perkin-Watts, Mayne worked locally in the advertising department at Assemblies of God General Council Headquarters, and as a free-lance graphic designer.

L. Michael Pentecost has joined Ozark Mountain Interiors as architect in charge of design, drawings and project implementation. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, and has extensive experience in project management, programming, planning and community relations. Pentecost is past president of AIA Missouri and has held leadership positions on various boards in Springfield and Greene County, many of which dealt with historic and environmental preservation of the area.

Byron Klaus has been appointed president-elect of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Klaus is currently vice president of the Latin America Child Care for the Assemblies of God and a professor at Southern California College in Costa Mesa, Calif. He will assume the presidency at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary July 1.

Sherry Ghan has joined North American Savings Bank as a residential loan officer. She has been in the banking industry for 21 years. Ghan attended SMSU and Drury College. Her most recent experience prior to joining North American Savings Bank was as a residential loan officer with Norwest Mortgage.

Phil Smith, president of JPS & Associates, an architectural and consulting firm, has been appointed by the Missouri Housing Development Commission to serve on a special committee of state officials and professionals. The committee will study the background and the extent of loss of affordable housing in Missouri. It is also charged with proposing solutions to the full Missouri Housing Development Commission.

Floyd Gilzow joined the staff of U.S. Representative Roy Blunt March 31 as Blunt's administrative assistant. For the past six years, Gilzow has served as chief financial officer for Southwest Baptist University. Blunt served as the university's president for four years of that time. Gilzow's return to Blunt's staff marks the fourth time he has worked for Blunt in similar capacities over the past two decades. Gilzow was Blunt's executive deputy secretary during Blunt's eight years as Missouri's secretary of state, and the two men also worked together in the 1970s when Blunt was the Greene County clerk.

Jennifer L. Young has joined Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance as a life and health insurance specialist. She is a graduate of Drury College with more than five years' experience in the field of life and health insurance. Young serves on the Red Carpet Committee of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and she is a member of the National Association of Life Underwriters.

Lynn Pyle has been promoted to vice president of Delta Dental Plan of Missouri's out-state market. She has been with the company for 11 years, having served the Delta Dental as regional account manager prior to her promotion. As vice president, she is responsible for lead generation and sales throughout Missouri, except for the St. Louis and Kansas City areas, as well as representing approximately 180 groups and $9.3 million in annual premiums for Delta Dental.
