Drury University’s O’Reilly Family Event Center is moving toward completion in late August, and the school has announced an Oct. 30 grand opening concert with Aretha Franklin. The center is funded by contributions and donations, including $6 million from Springfield’s O’Reilly family and $600,000 from the Pitt family. The Pitts’ gift will cover upgrades that will enable the center to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Gold standards. The facility’s basketball court will be named the William A.
