Ophelia's to return

Posted online
Restaurant and wine and tapas bar Ophelia's will return to Springfield after a two-year hiatus.

The new location will be on the ground floor of the Seville Lofts at 216 E. Walnut, next to Gailey's Cafe.

Finnegan's Wake Irish Pub owners Tom Muetzel and Anne Kim have partnered to get the restaurant back up and running. Muetzel originally owned Ophelia's before it closed, and Kim was the general manager, according to an Ophelia's news release.

The Seville Lofts location is smaller than the original location but is "a little bit more intimate," according to the release.

Ophelia's will offer a large wine selection and food, but the menu will be limited until permits associated with the new location are nailed down, according to the release.

Hours will be Wednesday through Saturday 5 p.m. until the bar closes, with the kitchen closing at 10 p.m. on weekdays and at 11 p.m. on weekends.

Kim said in an e-mail the restaurant will reopen in a few weeks, but she did not give a specific date.

Ophelia's Tapas & Wine Bar originally opened on Nov. 24, 2007 at 431 S. Jefferson Ave., according to an SBJ report.[[In-content Ad]]
