The Missouri Department of Transportation has named Michelle Teel as multimodal director, succeeding Brian Weiler, who last month was hired as Springfield-Branson National Airport’s aviation director. Weiler, 45, takes the Springfield post Aug. 1, replacing Gary Cyr, who retired in April.
Teel, of Fulton, has worked for MoDOT for 15 years, most recently as local programs administrator for the Design Division and as assistant director of the Motor Carrier Services Division. The Multimodal Division administers state and federal programs that fund and support aviation, railroads, transit, waterways and freight development.
Teel has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a master’s degree in business administration from William Woods University in Fulton. She is a licensed professional engineer and is also certified as a professional traffic operations engineer.
Weiler, who was selected from an original pool of 64 applicants, worked as MoDOT administrator of aviation 1997–2002 and director of aviation for the Johnson County Airport Commission in Johnson County, Kan., 1995–97.[[In-content Ad]]
