U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., has scheduled 15 education roundtable discussions across Missouri this week, with four area stops occurring today, according to a news release.
Today, McCaskill will visit:
- Springfield Public Schools' Kraft Administration Building at 12:30 p.m.;
- Nixa Public Schools' administration building at 2:30 p.m.; and
- Willard High School at 4:45 p.m.
McCaskill was in Lebanon at 10 a.m. today at Lebanon Senior High School.
McCaskill scheduled stops at 15 schools spanning the state April 18-21.
The senator aims to gather input from educators, administrators and parents with the intention of using the information as Congress prepares for renewed debate on education policy.
Congress is expected to begin discussing revisions to the No Child Left Behind Act later this year. The roundtables, according to the release, "will have the opportunity to gather common sense ideas on a variety of education-related topics to bring back to Washington."
Members of the local PTA groups will comprise the audience at each roundtable, but due to space constraints, the events will not be open to additional members of the public.[[In-content Ad]]
