Lawsuits filed against the state of Missouri cost taxpayers $24.2 million in 2019, according to an announcement from Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt’s office.
That compares with $28.8 million in 2018 and $25 million in 2017.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports many of the big-ticket lawsuits were related to employee discrimination and harassment suits filed against the Missouri Department of Corrections.
