Jordan Valley Community Health retools Web site

Posted online
Jordan Valley Community Health Center has retooled its Web site, switching to a new domain name in the process.

The center's old Web site, jvchc.com, now redirects to its new domain, jordanvalley.org, a change that went live Dec. 3, said Spence Jackson, director of communications and marketing.

"We felt that that shift better represented what we are. We see ourselves as an organization," he said. "We thought a change in Web address would note that."

The center, which was a Decade Award honoree in Springfield Business Journal's 2010 Economic Impact Awards, is a federally qualified health center serving individuals who might otherwise have a difficult time accessing health care. In July, center officials said Jordan Valley sees about 30,000 patients a year, and of those, about 85 percent – including Medicare and Medicaid – are underinsured or uninsured, according to Springfield Business Journal coverage.

A focus of the redeveloped Web site is on description of available services and experiences the center's patients have had at Jordan Valley.

"That's what we're most proud of," Jackson said.

The Web site also adds a language bar, which Jackson said will aid the center's many multicultural patients.

The site has a directory of its medical, dental and behavioral health providers as well as payment information for new and returning patients, among other features.[[In-content Ad]]
