Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei filed a legal motion Wednesday to block the U.S. ban on equipment sold in the latter country.
“Politicians in the U.S. are using the strength of an entire nation to come after a private company,” said Song Liuping, Huawei’s chief legal officer. “They are using every tool they have, including legislative, administrative and diplomatic channels. They want to put us out of business. This is not normal. The fact is the U.S. government has provided no evidence to show that Huawei is a security threat. There is no gun, no smoke. Only speculation.”
The Trump administration alleges Huawei's technology could be used for spying.
