A Hollister pub started in 2017 by the owners of barbecue eatery Gettin’ Basted LLC is coming this spring to the former Jason’s Deli space in Springfield.
Downing Street Pour House is set to open a second restaurant by May, said co-owner Tammy Roberts. She said the ownership group, which includes Derrick Melugin, Jason Roberts and Brad Leighninger, are teaming up on the new venture with franchisee Matt Arnall.
“We honestly have a lot of the same business goals and speak the same language on how we do things,” she said of Arnall, declining to disclose his franchise investment or lease terms.
The pub will open at 1724 E. Battlefield Road, in a roughly 5,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Jason’s Deli. The chain shuttered the deli in July 2019 after five years in operation, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
The site is part of a 19-acre group of properties at Battlefield and Glenstone Avenue owned by Warren Davis Properties LLC, according to the Greene County assessor’s website. Anchor tenants are Office Depot and Men’s Wearhouse.
“It’s going to be a pretty cool area to be in, so I’m excited,” Tammy Roberts said.
Downing Street’s menu includes a mix of pub fare, including fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and burgers made with wagyu beef.
