After five years operating in the Queen City, Jason’s Deli is closing.
On the Facebook page for the 1724 E. Battlefield Road store, officials announced yesterday the restaurant would shutter at the close of business today.
“We've enjoyed serving the Springfield community from this location for the past five years,” the post reads, without providing an explanation for the closure.
The Springfield location is the only Jason’s Deli operating in southwest Missouri, as the other five restaurants are in the Kansas City and St. Louis areas, according to the company’s website.
Fort Worth, Texas-based Deli Partners, a Jason’s Deli franchisee, opened the local restaurant in 2014, according to Springfield Business Journal archives. A corporate spokesperson with Jason’s Deli confirmed Deli Partners is still the franchisee; officials with Deli Partners did not respond for comment by deadline.
The Facebook post indicates customers who have gift cards or points through Jason’s Deli’s rewards system can redeem them at the company’s other 285 locations.
The Beaumont, Texas-based chain offers sandwiches, wraps, pasta and salads, as well as catering, according to its website.
